A few notes about this month’s meeting - Tuesday,
August 4th, 2009
Welcome by Mrs. Heard.

Band T-shirts were discussed and approved.
Meet the Braves was discussed.-Saturday, August
15

The band will
participate.
-
Band Boosters will
run the snow cone booth for whatever $ the athletic boosters
determine.

Marianne Cole will
line up workers for the booth.
Performance Fund Raiser on the Square-Saturday,
August 22 – 8am-Noon
-
Kids will perform
every thirty or forty minutes.
-
Boosters will sell
canned coke products. Please send in donated cases for us to
sell!
-
We will collect
donations around the square in our “shakos”.
-
Parents are needed
to help out, collect donations and supervise this morning.
-
We will load the
trailer after the Friday night scrimmage game.
Magnetic Wipe off board fund raiser was
discussed.
-
This fund raiser
will be run through the school.
-
Boosters will
purchase them for .99 each.
-
We will sell them
at a band booth and school store.
-
Mrs. Barnard will
also sell them at the middle school.
Purchases Approved.

A new set of flags
for the opener (includes a set of free flags which we will
also use in the show)

Two megaphones

Rain ponchos

Construction of an
awning for our concession stand.
Treasurer’s Report was read.
Chaperone guidelines for ball games will be
available at the next meeting. We will need to have a chaperone
chairman responsible for lining up chaperones for ball games. If
you’d like to chaperone, be sure to read the guidelines and get
signed up!
Chic Fil A Bowl was discussed.

We will be
attending this event.

At least 31 parents
said to count on their child-according to informal survey in
writing.

Which parts of the
event we will be participating in is yet to be determined by
Mrs. Heard and Mrs. Barnard. (concert, jazz, parade, field
show, massed band)
Financing the Chic-Fil-A Bowl
-
It was voted upon
and approved that the $5000 set aside to “help students with
the Chic-Fil-A Bowl” will be evenly divided amongst the
students. This changes the “per student” cost from $250 down
to $180 per student.

Meet the Braves
money will go towards the Chic-Fil-A Bowl.

Fundraiser on the
Square money will go toward the Chic-Fil-a Bowl.
-
The Community
Birthday Calendar fund raiser will go toward the Chic-Fil-A
Bowl.

Parents will
sell the ads. Contact Keith Levens if you can sell one.

Students will
sell the individual calendars for $8 each.
-
Students will
earn $5 per calendar toward their individual accounts.

Mrs. Heard is
handling this fund raiser.
Chic-Fil-A Bowl parent meeting was discussed.

We may have special
meeting for parents of students planning to go to the Chic-Fil-A.

The cost for
parents attending is less than students.
Next Band Booster Meeting is
Tuesday, Sept. 1 at 6:30pm. Please plan to attend.
